Many questions race furiously through he r head . "What will h e be like?," "Will he like m e?," and the biggest ques tion for every student c lini c ian, "Will I b e able to h e lpT When a littl e boy finally walks through the door . she takes a d eep breath and says , "You must be Andy. " He grins and she introduces h e rse lf to Andy , then leads him back to the Speech and Hea ring Clinic. She administers several tests to d te rmine what his specific problems are. Because he has worked hard , Andy gets a sti c ker on his w ay out of the clinic. His clinician leads him back to his mothe r and say s, ''I'll s ee you Thursday, Andy ." He gives he r another of those precious grins and then surprises his c lini c ian and everyon e around by wrapping his littl e arms around he r neck and g iving h er a sweet hug. From Andy's lisp to the stroke patient's s lurred speech. the student c lini c ians used their skills and lab equipment to h Ip them through the rapy . The equipment was a vital part o f the the rapy and would not have been possibl e without the Student Speech and Hea ring Association (SSHA). In Octobe r , the association raised money through a fa culty auction during Fa ll Fest. The auction raised more than $450 to purc hase equipment for the c lini c.
