'Christian fun will be done' serves as theme for the . .. STUDENT ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE \\, 1I t / b ' \ From concerts to virtual reality, there was always something to do on Harding's campus, thanks largely to the StudentActivities Committee (SAC). The committee's motto, "Christian fun will be done, " proved appropriate as they searched for ways to keep students active. Led by graduate studentTerry Davis , the committee consisted of 30 members, with each class equally represented. Members met to assign responsibilities for events and give suggestions for future activities . In order to get ideas for activities to bring to Harding, Davis attended the National Association of Campus Activities ' annual convention in Nashville, Tenn. After a day of watching comedians, bands and unusual tricks , Davis narrowed the possibilities to those suitable for a Harding audience. Once talent was found and a date was set, committee members did their part by selling tickets and doing what was necessa1y to make sure the show ran smoothly. "We work all of the functions. It's like a job, but we don 't get paid. We do it because we want to, " said freshman Freedom Goguen. The job may sound like a lot of work, but it had its rewards. Each member received free admission for themselves and a date to activities and movies. Workers were also able to meet performers and "enjoy a wide variety of activities that they ordinarily wouldn't have seen, " said junior Amy Conner. Some activities were more popular than others, however; numbers weren't the sole measure of success in the eyes of the SAC. Davis said, "If the activity was accomplished and the students liked it, it was a success. " - Tracy Evans Gregjennings ofRestless Heart entertains the Harding crowd.
