But Tri-Kappa social club dedicated the Saturday after pledge week to working on a service project and strengthening club ties. The old and new members of Tri-Kappa gathered at mid-morning at the Associated \Vomen for Harding (A WH) house. They spent the rest of the day cleaning the windows and blinds and weeding the flower beds outside of the house. The club members took care of anything that needed to be cleaned up - inside or out. Tri-Kappa learned of the need for someone to clean the AWH house from one of their sponsors, Mary Ann Arnett , who is in charge of that particular aspect of A WH activities. President Kim Sheets said the service project was a good way to get everyone together after pledge week, where the new girls were treated as equals. She said, "We chose to do it the Saturday after pledge week so that th old and new members could bond. " Vice President Kristi Spears agreed that cleaning the AWH house not only helped to unite the club , but it served to focus the members on service, even after pledge week. "It 's really nice to know that people would give up their Saturday, even though it was right after pledge week and most people don 't really have a lot of energy. It just proved that we could all work well together, " she said. - Lisa Stiles "It just proved that we could all work well together.,, Stacey Madison andMelissa Dolliver was!.? windows at the A W'H house.
