Sixty-two students were selected this year for induction into Who 's Who in American Colleges and Universities. Dr. Jerome Barnes promotes the program on the Harding campus, and said that participating schools are allotted a specific number of inductees yearly, based on current enrollment. "The number of eligible participants will vary some each year as enrollment varies," Barnes said. "It just so happens that this year, the number was sixty-two. " Who's Who Barnes said selection is based primarily on four criteria: academic achievement, service to the comSelects Seniors munity, leadership and potential for continued success. "That's the way Who 's Who differs from other organizations like Alpha Chi , which is primarily an honor society, " Barnes said. "With Who 's Who, scholarship is an important part of it , but it's not the only thing. We look just as hard at leadership ability and potential for service to the campus and the community. Who's Who involves more of an all-around performance ." There is no limit to how many students can be nominated each year , as long as they meet standards for membership set by the university," Barnes said. "The last time we addressed this at a faculty meeting, we decided that a student should have at least a 2.5 GPA on a minimum of 90 hours in order to be eligible." Nominations for Who's Who are submitted yearly by faculty and the Student Association.
