I guess it comes from all that dubbing he does ," aid Allen White , student graphic artist in Harding's media center. But at the end of his day at work, where he was surrounded with high-tech audio and visual equipment, David Woodroof, director of the educational media center, returned home to a "crummy old sound system and a 15-year-old 1V. " Woodroof had the responsibility ofoverseeing Harding 's audio-visual capabilities in cla srooms, the three campus auditoriums and the recording studio. He traversed the campus , setting up for concerts , making repai rs, doing whatever people needed. He began there as a student, graduating with a bachelor' degree in Bible in 1982 to become an as i tant to the assistant, and then progressing through the rank . Indirectly, Woodroof was involved in every a pect of campus life - from academics, when he made ure the VCR got to the classroom, to club activitie , for which he often helped in the production of end-of-theyear slide shows, to chapel, where hi office was responsible for the attention-getting dimming of the lights . Woodroofstood in the center of th back room, stacks of colored paper behind hin1, swinging a metal yardstick like a golf club. "I'll never be famous; I'm just trying to be nice," he said, and just like that, he made a hole-in-one --Amy L.
