&hool of Business Student Groups Represent Departments "It's business as usual " is something one might say when talking about the various activities Harding's business department was involved in this past year. The School of Business established a good reputation among its classes , organizations, and students. Companies and corporations from around the count1y are constantly searching for students from the university for various sales, marketing and accounting positions. Businesses have specially benefited from some of the marketing research classes for their assistance in researching the possibility of new businesses, restaurants , hopping facilities, and other organizations. One of the organizations which was involved in many activities this year was Pi Sigma Epsilon, a national sales and marketing fraternity. Pi Sigma Epsilon was the only one of its kind run entirely by students. Students were involved in sponsoring a trade show in which George H. Oliver, M. S. Local bu s iness owners and managers were invited to set up a display of their company so students could become more familiar with their operation. AMA, the American Marketing Association, was also involved in various activities throughout the year. Under the leadership of Charles Walker, students were able to gain practical xperience in the areas of marketing and promotional campaigns. In the spring, the group attended its annual convention with its emphasis on promotional campaigns. Students were able to hear various speakers from around the state speaking about their jobs and business activities and were also able to tour several business facilities. Harding's School of Business alsoreceiveda $1.000scholarship for its work in a promotional slogan for Central Arkansas Hospital. - Jan Bonds Academics 65
