Memorials Life would not be complete without some sorrow, tragedy and grief touching our hearts. While we were able to look back at days filled with joy and laughter, we were also forced to live through some sadness. And while . death can be frightening and often overwhelming, there is always our h pe and trust in God to see us through. The student body experienced such sadness and loss with the death of three students and one professor. Although these few sentences can't begin to describe the impact these people made with their lives, it serves as a simple way to honor and remember them. Dr. Richard Walker, professor of communication, was an outstanding leader both on campus and off. He developed the speech pathology program at Harding and contributed greatly to the departm nt as a whole. Shannon Romine was a very intelligent, thoughtful and caring person. He was a campus leader whose quiet nature and wonderful sense of observation were admired by many. Steven Knoll was a very outgoing young man with a unique perspective on life. His wonderful attitude toward and love for life prevailed over th cancer that took it. Matthew Golden was a quiet person who seemed to keep to himself until you grew closer to him. He was very much his own person and respected other people and their opinions. Memorials 315
