Petit Jean Service Award The Petit Jean Service Award was a new honor given to the social club with the service project that best exemplified the qualitie that fulfilled Harding University's goal of Christian service. Many clubs and organizations on campus served in a variety ofways that not only helped others but promoted growth within the club. Sigma Phi Mu was the firs t recipient of this award for their work at the Southern Chri tian Children's Home in Morrilton, Ark. One day a month the club went to the home to spend time with the children. They organized activities such as a Halloween party, sports, and a trip to Petit Jean Mountain for a picnic. In December, with help from the Tentmakers , Sigma Phi Mu was able to purchase Christmas gifts for each child living at the home. Sigma Phi Mu's service project has served as an ongoing way to help others, drawn the club closer together and allowed them to reach outside themselves. --Tracey ] ohn on The members of Sigma Phi Mu were cho- ~ sen to receive the Petit Jean Service Awa rd .
