GATA "Genuineness," is how Dodi Samuel , devotional director for GATA, described her dub. GATA, one of the oldest women's clubs on campus , iwas about 74 members strong. President Kara Clark said it was their common bond in God that made GATA so much fun. GATA' year together was filled with many activities such as hot chocolate devos on the football bleachers , a devo at B-Rock or an early sunrise service at Riverside Park. GATA, an acronym for Girls Aiming Toward Achievement , made it their objective to send kids to Camp Wyldewood who were unable to afford it. They achieved this goal by raising money through Winterfest, Harding' s winter homecoming. The club couldn't be ignored in the sports arena. The champions in A-team softball for medium clubs , they also finished first in A, B and D-team volleyball. Among these credits hangs first p lace in potluck volleyball. "Live pure , speak truth, right wrong," states GATA's motto . "It' s more their motto of life than just the motto for the dub ," Samuel said. --Kerri Hartman Tracy Denison shm, ·s club enrhusiasrn at Open House.
