Omega Phi With much room to celebrate, Omega Phi has been in existence for 50 years as one of Harding's women's social clubs. Club president, Sheila Pate , said the club participated in several activities throughout the year. As their fall service project, the club members spent one Saturday cleaning the Searcy Head Start Center. In the spring, the club hosted an Easter Egg Hunt Party for children at the center. Besides the usual club activities , Omega Phi also took part in weekly devotionals and mass dates. The girls would often get together in a large group and go to the movies and other activities on the weekends. With approximately 17 members, Pate said, "One of the best things about being a small club is that it 's usually very easy to find a place to get together." Pate also commented that because Omega Phi was a small club, she has been able to get to know people better and has made some lifelong friends through her club . -Jan Bonds z ~ ~ 0 > < 0 Shannon Sullenberger talks to Cheryl Cook and Kri sry Bi \'ens at £ \\·omen's open house.
