The Bisons were ranked second in pass defense and tenth in the nation in passing. Anthony Clear, Jon cwby, Kyle Citty and Lorne Latiker rake a few moments to rest, but they continue to stay focused on the game. The Bisons comp leted the season with a record of 7-4. Coach Larry Richmond was very ple ase d with his team 's second consecutive NAIA play-off appearance. "We had a young team this year," he said. "I was very proud of their efforts. They all did an excellent job. " The Bisons finished the year with a 7-4 record, second best in the conference. They also were ranked seventh in the nation. Leading the team this year were senior captains Steven Fitzhugh, Kyle Eubanks, Troy Foster and Richard Proctor. Foster and Proctor \\ 'ere named to the AllConference team. "Each of our captains played an important role this year. They will be missed," said Coach Richmond. Joining Foster and Proctor on the AllConference team were RB Amos Washington and QB Paul Mann. Mann, a sophomore, set four school passing records while Washington rushed for 733 net yards . On the receiving end of Mann's four passing records were Ron Sparkman, Jimmy Sloan and Tommy Brown. The trio also set new school records themselves for pass rece iving. Sparkman led the way with 40 catches, while Sloan and Brown had 30 each. Coach Richmond cited the game against Ouachita , which the Bisons won 28-0 , as the most important game of the season. "That particular game got our winning streak started. It helped us through the rest of the season," he said. Other achievements worth noting were the Bisons ranking second in pass defense and tenth in the nation in passing.
