In the midst of continuous changes-our majors, our relationships, our crazy Arkansas . weather-the fire burned on. Although we were a div_erse group separated by individual preferences and goals, we were all attracted to the same Light, the same Warmth, the same cozy hearth. We came to Harding searching for stability; and underneath the sheltering portals of her traditional ideals, we unified ourselves into one body, with one purpose, fed from one flame. With strong Christian leaders at the helm, we grew individually through cooperative service to others. We stood in the flickering shadows of men who were living testimonies to the ideals of Truth and Service, and those of us who chose to follow began a journey toward the fiery future. We knew that the friends by our sides would one day leave; we knew the loves we treasured most would one day die; but we also knew that the value of friends and the influence of love would live forever. And so we held hands, brushed away our tears, feared the change, and kept walking toward the Light. We had felt the heat of the flame on our faces, and we knew that we couldn't tum our back to the Blaze without despising the coldness of the world and longing for the warmth of the Light. We left Harding and returned to different parts of the world, but we took with us a spark of life that ever-reminded us that although we didn't start the fire, it was our job to fan the flame.• Anissa Campbell Editor-in-Chief
