1991-1992 Yearbook

LECTURESHIP The theme of the year's Bible Lectureship "Where Genesis Meets Life," was selected to symbolize the beginning of God's basic plan for life in the 21st century. Dr. Don Shackelford, lectureship director, said the goals for this year's lecture series was to "faithfully teach as much as possible of the book of Genesis and to attract many Christians as well as preachers to the campus." The lectureship program provided different experiences for those who attended. Special musical presentations by the university and Harding Academy choral groups preceded each evening's lecture. Classes, events and special chapel speakers, motivated students to get involved. The theme speakers insightfully spoke about the book of Genesis; they applied the book to many modem-day problems, such as the Middle East crisis and the New Age movement. The lectureship book was dedicated to Jim Bill Mclnteer, a trustee for Harding since 1950, and his wife Betty. The week of classes, lectures, luncheons and fellowship continued the 68-year tradition to provide leadership to churches and individual Christians as a part of the Harding mission. + OLD FACES. Former faculty member Ross Cochran returns to speak and visit with lectureship guests.
