Netters Take 11th In The NAIA Finishing as AIC champs, District 17 champs, and eleventh in the NAIA, the Bison tennis team has certainly left their mark. The team remained undefeated in conference and district for three and two years respectively. closed with 24 wins and 3 losses. The outstanding team, consisting of Octavio Rivas, David Webb, Luis Garcia, Richie Roberts, Rigo Rosales, and Ernesto Tovar, practiced consistently and displayed a large measure of determination. The team held the memory of the previous year's victorious record before them as incentive to out-do themselves this season. Senior David Webb explained, "We sometimes practiced two times a day before national because we knew we had a chance at winning. There was something in the air, we had lot more drive and determination." One great accomplishment of the year was that each of the six members of the team made All-District. Roberts, Rosales, Tovar, Next year there will be a big tradition left behind to carry on. -Coach David Elliot " and Garcia were also named to the 1991 All-AIC men's tennis team. Coach David Elliot received welldeserved recognition by being named AIC coach of the year. Elliot's only disappointment was the knowledge that all six players would not be returning in the fall. The tradition of excellence that was kept by the tennis team left a brilliant fire of accomplishments behind, a fire that the new team will be challenged to keep alive+ - Vicki Jackson Their vision of an even more successful record became a reality as the season final team standings Ark.
