Sixth Consecutive Championship "A very enjoyable season" were the terms Coach Ted Lloyd used in describing the excellent performance of the Lady Bisons' cross country team of 1991. Successfully defending their AIC/District championship title, the Lady Bisons picked up their sixth ·consecutive championship - "Shauna is on course for a great career," commented Coach Lloyd. Queen was the Lady Bisons' number one runner in every meet. She ran the fastest 5000 meter of any sophomore from Harding and the third fastest ever. Queen and Kelsie Hutchison were track AH-American; and freshsince 1986. "It was just what we were supposed to do," said Coach Lloyd. "The team ran very well." It was just man Andrea Robertson and sophomore Keri Hutchison were AH-Conference and AH-District. The conference meet was held October 5 at Ouachita University. The team had not placed real high until the conference meet. There several of the women ran their best times of the season. Senior Kelsie Hutchison was one of these. Last year's champion and four time All-Conference performer, she finished second with a what we were supposed to do. The team ran very well. -Coach Ted Lloyd The women of the team went true to form. They gained much experience and confidence by entering and competing in big competitions. This year marked the tenth season for the women's cross country team to compete. Since 1981, they have been climbing to the top with their consecutive victopersonal record of 18:07. Senior Chandra Latimer also ran her best time with 20:49 placing 15th. - ries by their exceptional attitudes and endurance. "It was a very enjoyable season, and one in which the women achieved and excelled," said Coach Lloyd. Next year should prove to be just as rewarding even with the loss of senior Kelsie Hutchison. + - Vicki Jackson The Lady Bisons' own sophomore Shauna Queen finished first with a time of 17:39.
