rrri-'IJe{ta Serving The Forgotten Tri-Delta social club has been serving the Lord on the Harding campus since 1989. Although they were a relatively new club, the membership continued to grow as they sought to be more like Christ. The club held a Halloween Party for the Sunshine School Children. Does that sound like a waste of time? The answer is no. Ashley Womack addressed that question by saying, ' 'Maybe you could have been doing other things rather than being at the Halloween party. But when you saw those kid's faces light up, you knew that's where God wanted you to be." President, Trina Shaw, saw the service project as a chance to reach out to others. She stated, "I feel it was an exciting opportunity to serve the people who often get forgotten." The club shared their time with the children. Traci Gilstrap said, "Entertaining the children at Sunshine School for Halloween was a night_. of exciting preparation. We were eager to create a Halloween they would never forget. We reached for the children's hands and side by side entered the world of imagination for a night of hilarity, thrills, and companionship." As college students it is hard to take time out from busy schedules. "I enjoyed spending time with the kids because you don't get to spend a whole lot of time with children at college. I know they really enjoyed it, but the things I got out of it were immeasurable," stated Rebecca Wiemuth. Obviously, Tri-Delta social club gained a great sense of fulfillment by serving others. • - Laurie Simmons STRIKE A POSE.
