Omega Plii Smiles On Their Faces A small club with a big heart is one way to describe Omega Phi, one of the 18 women's clubs on campus. Juli Murrah liked the surroundings of a smaller club, "It was nice to be in a small club because I got to know everyone really well!" Omega Phi was founded in the fall of1944. The club was busy throughout the year with many activities, including their service projects. These projects gave the members an opportunity to live up to their motto, "Love, light, and loyalty from God to our fellow man." In the fall, the club held a Halloween carnival for the children at Searcy Headstart school. Michelle Allen said that the club's goals were, "To help the underprivileged children that weren't able to have a Halloween party and to have fun with lots of neat games and candy." She also stated that being with the children gave her and the members of the club a good feeling. "There aren't many safe places for kids to go trick-ortreating, so this is a good project that helps the parents and children. Another way ,we helped was by taking pictures of the children for parents who might not be able to afford cameras," said club member Misty Massie. Then in the spring, the club sponsored an Easter egg hunt for the children, which is similar to the Halloween party. Kari Johnson, "The service project enabled the club to show its christian attitude and love towards others in the community." Ced Bitting, president of Omega Phi stated, "The club members always come away with smiles on their faces, and a satisfied feeling. To me, I always feel like we need to do more for those who are not as blessed as we are, especially the children."+ - Angela Anderson IRRESISTIBLE BOWHEADS.
