YL(jO Small In Number-Big In Heart Throughout the 1991-92 school year, Alpha Gamma Omega social club looked for every opportunity to serve the community and Christ. Back in September, the club held a memorial service for Randy HilJ, a former member who had passed away during the summer. Barry Baggett, president of AGO explained, " It gave each member a time to reflect on Randy and the club itself; over all it brought the club closer together." The club's goal this year was to grow closer to God and each other. This year AGO was pleased to welcome Robin Miller as a new sponsor. Along with MilJer, 11 pledges were initiated. Barry Baggett said, "Having 11 pledges join has really paid off." The members worked at ~II times to show the pledges what the club was all about. Although the club was small, its potential and chivalry{' far exceeded that of its numQer. AGO showed their mottoJ "A common bond holding us to the Lord," was not only wc>rds but a way of life. AGO's service project wa& for the benefit of the young son of a University of Arkansas's assistant football coach. The child had leukemia and has to undergo numerous treatments at Duke Medical Center in North Carolina. AGO hoped to defer the cost for the family by asking students for donations. AGO member, Kenny Cummings stated, "We as club brothers share a bond of love and caring. This was our way of helping someone to realize that there are people who care for them."+ - Laurie Simmons & Eric French CAUGHT IN THE SCENE. No, Rick Healy has notjust been thrown behind bars by Harding Security for stealing second base! He is just quenching his thirst during one of the many softball games played on the old field.
