330 Closing Making An Impression The last final is finished, the last commencement speech is over, the last car is loaded, and the last thought of homework has been exchanged for those of suntans and sunshine. Intersession and summer school are ready to begin, summer campaigners anxiously await their flights, and others begin thinking of flipping burgers and sacking groceries. Another school year has come and gone. The first impressions of adjusting freshmen are replaced by the final impressions of graduating seniors. And now it's up to us, the students, graduates, and teachers of Harding to carry the flame and make good impressions on others. Harding exemplifies academic excellence, but more importantly, it emphasizes spiritual growth. If we allow God to be in the center of all our activities, whether it be in chapel, in the classroom, during the game, or in our dorm rooms, the impressions we leave will be according to His will. We will leave powerful impressions imprinted in the lives of many when we depart from Harding; and although the decisions and examples we made are important, we also must be aware of the significance of the impressions that we will make in our futures. Not everyone out there in the "real world" will have the advantages that a Christian education provides, and it's with these people that we need to leave a powerful Christ-like impression. The:r:e are so many opportunities out there for us, as Christians, to impress upon others the need for Christ in their lives. Philippians 4:5-7 says, "Let your gentleness be evident to all." And it's this "evidence" that proves we are constantly "making an impression." And it's the bold, powerful, righteous impressions of Christ that we leave on the hearts and minds of others that will linger for now and forever. Kristy Dalton Editor-in-Chief
