Forensics, SSHA, College Bowl Forensics, College Bowl, Dactylology, and SSHA Soared To New Heights In.Each of Their Specialties College Bowl, Forensics, SSHA, and the Dactylology club worked on this campus to promote and gain a better understanding in the areas of communication and hearing. The College Bowl, under the direction of Dr. Dennis Organ, worked in the area of quiz competition on a national level. In order to qualify for regional competition in Denton, TX, on March 1-2, members had to play in an intramural tournament. The Varsity team consisted of the four members of the winning intramural team and four all-stars from other intramural teams. The intramural finals were held in Chapel the week before final exams. The Forensics team was involved in intercollegiate competition across the South and Midwest. They participated in debate, persuasive speaking, in292 Bonded Impressions formative speaking, and dramatic, poetry, prose, and duo interpretation. They attended ten tournaments this season, which ran from September to March. The Dactylology club offered sign language classes for the beginner and advanced signer every week. This club was a great service to the deaf people in the community. They helped in the College church ministry for the deaf. SSHA was an acronym for the Student Speech and Hearing Association. The purpose of this organization was to promote professional knowledge about speech and language pathology and audiology.
