Science And Medical: Pre-Med Club, Chemistry Club, DEVITA, and HSNA gave opportunities to students to excell m their fields of study HSNA, Pre-med club, DeVita, and the Chemistry club were all science and medical oriented organizations that helped students majoring in these areas to relate better to their professions. HSNA was the local chapter of the National Student Nurses Association which strove to aid in the development of the whole person, his/her professional role, and his/her responsibility for the health care of people in all walks of life. The highlight of the year was participating in the state and national convention. HSNA was sponsored by Louise Bradford and Cecelia Sanders. Ed Wilson was the sponsor for the Pre-med club. The club had several guest speakers at their meetings this year and also prepared their members to fill out their applications to 284 Bonded Impressions Medical school. This year the Society of Life Sciences (or DeVita) was sponsored by Bryce Roberson. Its purpose was to promote interest in biology as a science and to promote interaction among students and the faculty. They participated in lecture series, field trips, and National affiliations. The other science and medical related club on campus was the Chemistry club. The club's purpose was to increase the appreciation of chemistry and to provide service projects of an educational nature on chemistry. The Chemistry club hosted a Satellite Conference on Space Exploration and invited all of the White County Schools.
