The number of music majors increased from 64 to 75. The music department was honored this year by certification of its program by the National Association of Schools of Music. In addition, Cliff Ganus III, director of Belles and Beaux led the choral group through an exciting schedule of performances from Kansas to Florida. There were many special musical guests this year. Opera singer Robert McFarland, guitarist Mark Williams, and tenor Mark Brown were just a few of them. Also the Dallas Brass returned to give another stunning performance. This year also marked the first Christmas performance written and composed entirely by students. The performance combined singing with choreography to put Harding in a festive Christmas spirit. Concert Choir and University Singers attended a festival for chorus groups, and students competed in Region and state competition. The efforts of the music faculty and students, however, was never more apparent than at the performance of the Homecoming musical My Fair Lady. -Jessica Nelson 248 Guided Impressions George E.
