The motto for the program was "A sport for every man and every man in a sport." The program was designed to develop stamina and skill in an activity as well as to cultivate social attributes towards opponents, teammates, spectators, and offi204 Rival Impressions cials, according to Coach Mike Pruitt. The men's intramurals program offered a wide range of sports including individual, team, spring, and winter sports such as horse-shoes, tennis, softball, and volleyball. A point system existed so that men could earn an intramural jacket. At the end of the year the winners were announced in chapel and presented with their prize. Other honors such as the Spirit award, the Athlete of the Year award, and admission to the Pictorial Hall of Fame were also given at the end of all intramural activities. Coach Pruitt said that about 703 of the Harding men participated in the program. He said that this figure positively reflected upon the program and its intent to help the men grow closer to God while growing closer to each other. by Tanya Atkinson
