1990-1991 Yearbook

Looking at the Bright Side The overall record of the men 's team this year did not reflect the squad's attitude, commitment, and effort. They did have some memorable victories such as the 88-79 win against Arkansas College. The Bisons averaged 22 turnovers per game; however, this game they only had nine. Rolando Garcia scored 31 of the 88 points, breaking his average of about 25 points per game. One of his highest scoring games was against Central Methodist with a total of 43 points. Morris Williams led in the rebounds with a total of 12. . Coach Boyd said Williams had really improved in this are since the season began. The team always managed to keep a good attitude - win or lose. A good attitude might not have won them an AIC title, but it did won the admiration of their fans. Coach Boyd said, "Though I am disappointed with our loss record, I am real proud of the way the guys have stuck together and haven 't given up. They still played their best. " There were no new faces added to the st arting line-up this year, but freshman Jason Parker saw quite a bit of playing time. Parker was a center/forward from Fort Smith, Arkansas. He felt the same disappointment as Coach Boyd. He said, "I was sort of disappointed about the season because we didn 't do as well as we thought we would. But we were gett ing better, and we kept working hard." The team lost Michael Wood, the lead three point shooter, and .Rolando Garcia, the high scorer and rebounder to graduation. The majority of the team will be returning next season - determined to give it their all. by Leah Mangrum Scoreboard HU OPPONENT 96 Central Arkansas 105 94 U of 0 100 88 Southern Arkansas 87 77 Ouachi t a 97 80 Hendrix College 83 63 UA Mont icello 62 71 Arkansas College 80 66 Arkansas Tech 75 82 Henderson State 83 84 Central Arkansas 106 84 U of 0 89 70 Southern Arkansas 75 95 Ouachita Baptist 87 71 Hendrix College 93 76 UA Monticello 94 88 Arkansas College 79 81 Arkansas Tech 93 192 Rival Impressions MEN'S BASKETBALL.
