[ Searcy Steel Steel team ranks high with 11-4 season record. T he 1989 season for the Searcy Steel soccer team proved to be a successful one. The team posted a final record of 11 wins and 4 losses in the fall, for a second place finish in the conference. Cesar Angulo, a junior member of the team, said the highlight of the season was beating the University of Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayettville. "It was really exciting to go down there and beat such a big school," he said. He was also excited about the increase in the size of the home crowd this year. "Last year there would be around 10 people at a game," Angulo said, "but this year we had crowds as large as 50 people. It was great." STEAL AWAY. She said that she enjoyed going to the games even though she had never seen a soccer game before that fall. "I don't know much about soccer, but it was exciting to watch," Benson said. "It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon." The Steel team was comprised of Harding University students, although the team was not sponsored by the college.
