I Baseball I Team placed 2nd • conference Ill T he Harding Bison Baseball team swung its way to a final season record of 25 wins and 25 losses, with a final standing of 16-8 in the Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference. Their season record gave them second place status in both the AIC and District 17. According to the players, the season was exciting as well as challenging. "It was really exciting reaching the finals," said Scott Rose, "but it was also disappointing getting that close and not being able to go all the way." Senior John Kodatt had a 9and-O pitching season, making him the leading pitcher in the conference. Another pitcher, David DePew, had a 6-4 record, also ranking him in the AIC as one of the top 10 pitchers in the conference. Rose had at least two dozen stolen bases and scored 10 homeruns. Junior Jeff Phillips said, " I think we could have won the conference, but we lost it in the pitching. However, we are hoping to do better in the future. We have a lot of good men that will continue playing for Harding and some good freshmen coming in. " Although they didn 't take home the conference championship, the team did return home with good attitudes and high hopes for next year. - Ronnie Biggs WARMING UP.
