1989-1990 Yearbook

Picture yourself walking across campus on a hot August afternoon. As perspiration drips from your forehead, you see a squirrel resting in the shade, seeking refuge from the hot sun. In the background you hear the crack of a bat as it hits a ball over center field. Intramural softball has begun. Now, it's mid-October. The chilly west winds forced you to grab your jacket before you left for your afternoon walk. As you walked along the railroad tracks in silence, you hear the chatter of volleyball and basketball players as they hurriedly crossed Park Avenue to make it to practice on time. The football players were already on the field. It's spring now and the baseball players barely gave the field time to dry before they began sliding into bases, perfecting their passes, and swinging the bats. Through the years, Harding University's arena of sports has grown to include 12 intercollegiate sports and 19 intramural sports, making an endless list of athletic activities available to the students. -Kimberly Nunn Assistant Editor A SHOT IN THE LIGHT.
