"Alpha Tau is looking forward to another profitable year ofgrowing closer to each other and to God." - Ken Weinhardt A lpha Tau and GATA social clubs enjoyed another year of sharing together in activities - social and spiritual. Last spring Alpha Tau ended the semester with its annual cookout at Greer's Ferry Lake in Heber Springs. This end-of-the-year event provided members with a change from the usual formal banquet. Alpha Tau continued its tradition of excelling in sports by going to the finals in potluck Bteam basketball and taking second place on club track and field day. The club then brought its winning attitude back to campus in the fall as they participated in all club sports. "As one of the smaller 'big' clubs, I feel we are one of the most competitive clubs ," athletic director Marty DeJarnette said. "No matter if we're winning or losing, we are playing our hardest and giving our best, just like our club motto - 'In all things, do your best' - says." The year's other activities included a Christmas party at Legion Hall, a hayride with GATA, and a cookout at the club's sponsor's farm. They also planned weekly devotionals with GATA. GATA's semester last spring also proved eventful. The club's annual Winter Festival service project raised money to send children to Camp Wyldewood. GATA enjoyed a party with Alpha Tau at the Downtown Church of Christ gym, then ended the semester with a banquet at L'Auberge French restaurant in Little Rock. The fall of this year brought activities including a hayride, Christmas party, and participation in softball and football. "Being in GATA has been one of the most positive experiences I have had while at Harding," said GATA president Becky Mitchell.
