1989-1990 Yearbook

Social clubs dominated the bulk of campus activities during the year and affected an overwhelming majority of Harding University students. Club jerseys of blue, red, green, purple, orange and black could be seen every day of the week as members promoted their clubs with pride, identifying themselves with a name on their jerseys. Club sports, parties, spring banquets, Spring Sing and other events gave club members a variety of activities to keep them busy throughout the year. Devotionals and service projects brought club members together in Christian unity. But clubs did not simply give students a social outlet in which they could stay busy; they provided a way to meet new people and develop strong, lasting friendships. For many, this aspect of social club life was most important because friendships and fond memories were the only things besides a diploma that could be taken from Harding. The possibilities for strengthening club unity were endless, and, if taken advantage of, the number of strengthened friendships were, too. -Phillip Tucker Social Clubs Editor CLUB LABELING.
