BIBLE t Timothy Clu~, Conquerors, Good News Szngers • Sp_iritual clubs were som~ times seen as appropriate only for Bible majors. However, three organizations, Timothy Club, Good News Singers, and. Conquerors, opened up the door for those who were interested. Reshaping and changing were the main goals of the Timothy Club. Through sponsoring weekend campaigns, considering a name change, and becoming a more student steered organization, the Timothy club strove to change its image. MAKING MUSIC. These changes ranged from activities such as the Wyldewood retreat featuring missionary Ralph Henry as speaker and a sleepout on Brock. Not only were the activities geared toward outreach outside the club, but also to develop a bond between the members. The Good News Singers held performances in chapel, Mike Cope's Wednesday night class, Marshall Church of Christ Youth rally, and at churches in Mississippi, North Carolina, and Florida. "Our goal was to bring an encouraging message to different churches and to show a spiritual attitude accented with quality and contemporary Christian music," said Mike Anderson. The Conquerors were more interested in message not theatrics. The "drama" group, which performed at several churches for youth rallies, used Christian themes and morals to get their message across. All the groups encouraged Christian growth. One by activities, one through singing, and one with drama. -Gayla Hall Bible 47
