Queen's crowning one of events 'Homecoming was really special for me because two fantastic events happened: my entire family came and I was crowned Homecoming Queen - neither of which I expected." - Stephanie McAfee H omecoming week has always been a week full of energy and excitement, and this year was no different. The buzz in the air was as apparent as ever before. Of course, plans were finalized for the musical "The King and I," and the football team was excited about the game against DA-Monticello. Also, the traditional crowning of the Homecoming Queen in chapel took place the day before the game. Although the Bisons lost, the week was still a great success. The "Royal Weekend" was fun for everyone that participated. Stephanie McAfee was crowned queen and reigned over the game. "Being crowned queen was an unexpected honor because I had never thought of myself as holding that reign. It was a great honor, but the day was also special because my parents and my brothers were here. They have never come down for such a short time - so it was really special," said McAfee. . /~ ~, I , ·~ Uncle Bud's buddies. India Medders and Robert San Juan were warmly received in the lead roles of the musical. "I really enjoyed being in the play "The King and I." The entire cast was such a joy to work with and Robert (San Juan) did an excellent job in his role as king," said Medders. Also, fond memories were stirred as many people returned to Harding for a glimpse at their past, our present, and possibly their children's future. Homecoming really was a time to renew old friendships, make new ones, and remember what it was like when the individuals attended school. Karen Reynolds, a senior public relations major from Batesville, AR, said, "Homecoming's always been a memorable time of the year, especially the plays, but I really feel that Homecoming will take on a whole new meaning to me next year as I plan to return, not as a student, but as an old friend." ~cu ~~id it! I enjoy Homecoming because of the many activities, such as the football game and the musical. It also gives people a chance to come back to the school and see old friends.
