Dedication day of the 1988 Petit Jean was finally here. The student body anxiously awaited the crowning of their new 1988 Petit Jean Queen. Four candidates had been selected by the students out of 16 women, each who represented a different men's social club on campus. After balloting, Traci Brown, a junior biology major from Jonesboro, AR, representing Knights social club, was chosen to reign. Traci was a member of Shantih social club who enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and softball. She also loved to sing and play the guitar. Her future plans include going to dental-hygiene school Petit Jean Queen attendants. Attending Traci were, Beth Stanley, a junior elementary education major from Searcy, AR, who represented Titans; Gabrielle DeMatteis , a junior accounting major from Chillicothe, Ohio, representing TNT; and Christi Heinselman, a senior accounting major from Atlanta , GA, who represented Kappa Sigs. When asked about her experiences as a Harding student, Traci replied , "What's made me the happiest here at Harding is making friends. They 've helped me spiritually." ,,
