Members of the Caving Club studied cave conservation and cave biology. They tried to take one or two trips a month. The basic equipment required for a spelunker included a helmet, boots, head lamp, knee pads, long sleeve shirts and gloves. Club dues helped to pay for some of the equipment. To find out more about caves they would talk to locals who knew the area well. This also gave members a chance to hear the tales of the nearby caves. "Each cave has a story;' said Valens Hernandez, club president. <$> French Club French Club. Front row: Kunkle, Martinez., Baker, S. Wright, D. Wright, W. Wright-sponsor.
