The group consisted of four talented and dedicated musicians : Jimmy Alderdice (acoustic and electric guitars), Gary Cupp (fiddle, banjo, guitar, and bass ), Marty Dav is (guitar and bass), and Denver Lee (drums and percussion). Chris Dell , assistant director of admissions, booked all of their tours to youth rallies, churches, banquets, and Christian high schools in surrounding states. They have performed as far north as Nebraska, and as far south as Florida. The Time of Day's main goal was not so much to entertain as it was to represent Hard ing and to encoura_ge young people to pursue a Christian educa tion. "It's an honor to represent Harding and its students- the Time of Day put in a lot of effort to represent the school in the best way possible," said Dell. Another group on campus that toured to increase interest in Harding University was Belles & Beaux. Under the direction of Dr. Cliff Ganus III , they tried to encourage prospective freshmen and transfer students to attend Harding. They were mainly an instrument-accompanied choir that combined choreography and country I soft pop music to cr~ate an entertaining, upbeat show, much like a jazz choir. They also toured and performed for churches, schools, and other social groups. On October 12, the musical group performed for high school days in Benson Auditorium. 'They held everybody' s attention and made what I thought to be a very favorable impression on the audience . I think that they have been and will continue to promote the ideals of Harding University," said academy senior Samantha Farrar. Jm -
