Although the Bisons did not win a game in the Ale or even come close to winning the conference title, the Bisons had many gifted athletes who gave it their all. The two that were recognized by the conference and named All -AlC were Poston and Jones. The Bisons had several o thers who received honorable mention. " Coach Prock said of Poston, "He keeps coming up with great performances ." Those great performances resulted in endless awards and honors for the business systems analysis major. - /ohn 1. RAdcl.ffi' Greg Poston attempts to block a field goal try by University of Arkansas at Monticello. Poston was the Bisons' defensive leader, recording more than 120 tackles. He ranked second in the Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference in pass interceptions with five . He also had four fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a touchdown. Throughout the season, Poston was named "Bison of the Week" four out of the ten times. One of his finest performances was against Henderson State University, where he had seven tackles, 10 assists, one quarterback sack and a pass interception which resulted in a touchdown . In the game against Southwestern College of Memphis , Poston had nine tackles and two interceptions. In the loss to University of ArkansasMonticello, he recorded 14 solo tackles, three assists, a pass interception and a blocked punt. After his fine play in the UAM game the NAIA District 17 rewarded Poston by naming him "Player of the Week. " Other awards Poston received were All-AIC defense linbacker and for five weeks in a row Mazzio's honored him as "Player of the Week. " Coach Prock said, "He's one of the finest football players I've ever had . His effort is just outstanding . Poston only knows one way to play - that's all out. all of the time ."
