A Time For Renewed Enthusiasm And Togetherness Every year brings changes to the social clubs on campus. Many old members graduate, transfer, marry, or go inactive, and many new freshmen arrive to take part in club life. In essence then , a new beginning takes place every fa ll semester as a new school year begins . In conjunction with thi s idea, Theta Psi social club resolved to face the year with a positive and enthusiastic attitude towa rds their club and its members, and to pu t forth an increased amount of club pa rticipation. These two resolut ions provided the club with an exciting year. "Living up to ou r motto of 'toget herness' wh ile serv ing each other and growing closer, was one of the primary goal s of Theta Psi this year, " said Pam Watson. The club 's togetherness was po r- - 101m Radcliffe _ Demwa LaLonde - Oms Dei trayed as they took part in several social gatherings. The girls launched the fall semester by go ing on a float trip on the Buffalo River. And , what would the fa ll semester be without a hayride? True to tradition , Theta Psi held a hayride, but were grea tly distressed when the occasion became a 'hi -bye' situation when their trai ler "gave up the ghost. " As the fall semester came to a close, the girls gree ted the season by ho ld ing a Christmas party, and in the Spring, they "dressed to kill " as they went to their Sp ring Banquet. Togetherness is often found in working toge ther and so Theta Psi took on the task of cleaning the Sunshine School. They also adopted a resident grandmother, Mrs. Auda Price, whose home they often visited to help with the housework or just to talk a whi le. By getting involved in these service projects and by having devo tionals twice a month , the gi rl s expanded thei r horizons beyond only social functions . Theta Psi showed yet another side of their club unity as they competed in club softball, volleyball, football, bowling, and basketball. The members proved to be tough contenders as thei r "A" team took second place in softball and their "C ' team also placed second in voll eyball. As the 1983-84 year came to a close , another page turned in Theta Psi's history where ageless memories are stored to be remembered always . rw 1.
