Young Club Strives Toward High Expecfations In its first year as a social club at Harding, Pi Kappa Epsilon mens' club strove to obtain an admirable position and reputation among the campus organizations. Pikes chartered on May 3, 1983 with 15 members under the sponsorship of Dr. Tom Howard . "He (Howard) has supported us wholeheartedly; he se ts high standards for us," Burrus stated. " We try to live up to his expectations. " T amy Sitton was asked to join the men as a sponsor and Burrus also attributed much success to Tomy's hard work. The men spent most of the remainder of the spring semester together to develop strong bonds of fri endship. "We are a group of guys who want a club with a combination of good strong spiritual foundati on and fun , relaxed friendship ," David Stills, a sophomore charter member said.
