Individuality Brings Unity Among Girls "Individualit y. All the girl s are so d iffe rent." That 's what Christy Waterson, junior and president of Ka Re Ta, sa id was her favorite part abou t the women 's club. Despite that variety, the club boasted an unusual unity. "There are so many girls with such different in terests, but you always feel a part. There is a bond there that I don ' t see in a lot of othe r cl ubs, " said Ca r y Randl e, treasurer and also a junior. The girls who were especi all y interested in spo rt s played softball, basketball , football , and volleyball. For the fi rst time, they took the championships for A, B, and D volleyball teams. For the girl s who preferred music, Ka Re Ta planned to participate in Spring Sing with Pikes, the new men 's social club o n campus. Their theme , "Military I" offe rs another aspect to thei r various persona lities. The social interaction of the club came both through service proj ects and par- - Wes Hollill1d - Chris Oei ties . The girls went to Morrilton Children's Home to spend time ~ith the kids there. They also participa ted in the Student Association Toy and Dolly Drive at Ch ristmas. These ve ry special service projects brought joy to the club in the sharing of themselves with others. Spending time together at a western Hall oween party: a Christmas party at the Lit - tle Rock Club , and a Spring Banquet affo rded the gi rl s the opportunity to simply enjoy the company of one another. The Valentine's Party , with the possibili - ty of becoming a new traditon, provided that same fellowship. Besides unity , the girls felt the importance of branch ing out. Devotionals with several clubs brought Ka Re Ta closer to Buccaneers and Pikes as well as various other clubs. A breakfast devotional early in the first semester got the year off to a good start. Because this group of girl s, with diversified interests and ideas, banded together and learned to sha re in one ano ther's accompl ishments, Ka Re Ta exhibited a spirit of unit y desired by every social club.
