- Becky Swartwood Child Receives Christmas Surprise Pledge Week brought Tri Sigma and Theta Tau into a more unified situation with daily meetings for dinner in the cafeteria. Two combined devotionals gave the members of both clubs the chance to get to know one another and gave strength for the difficult times. Friday night was a "skit night" for Tri Sigs followed by a party at the home of Mrs. Levera Burkett, club sponsor. Halloween was a highlight, taking the clubs to a haunted house. The frightful sights and sounds by no means detered appetite so a pizza party was next on the agenda. Secret brothers and sisters were an important part of the interclub relation~ ships. A cheery note in the box or a batch of cookies raised spirits and brought smiles to those involved. Tri Sigs had an eventful fall semes~ ter. Volleyball proved successful as their "B" team took the championship. Participation in all sports, a hayride, an outing with Theta Tau at Wyldewood and a Christmas party filled the calendars of the Sig ladies. An "Angel Child" was the target of their service project in the fall semster. An underprivileged child was chosen - Eddie Cagle from the community to receive a Christmas including a turkey and presents. Theta Tau began its year with a camp~out at Bluff Hole in September. The chilly weather didn't hinder a pleasurable and profitable weekend. Two pizza parties, club meetings and other activities helped create strong and fast friendships . Participation in sports was good with "A" team taking second place in volleyball, "B" team taking first places in softball and foot~ ball and "(" team taking first place in volleyball. Although the clubs did not choose to participate in Spring Sing, the spring semester did not lay dormant. The Jog~ A~Thon and Special Olympics kept things gOing as well as banquets, sports, and a brother~sister club picnic. '<:
