Radcliffe Bunking Party Takes Place of Rough Night Pl edge Week took on a new meaning for Kirei Na Ai when the activities of the week ended with a forma l candlelight initiation, replaci ng the traditional Rough Night. Following the ceremony was a banana split and bunking party where the o ld and new members spent the ni ght getting acqua inted and eating bount ifully . Later in the fall Kirei treated themselves to a fall hayride to Wyldewood for a Western party. A Christmas party in the home of sponsor Mary Johnson, a spring outing, and the an nua l spri ng banquet we re also spec ial times for club members to spend together. Playing club softba ll , volleyball , and basketbal l brought the girl s together in compet ition and in team effort, resulting in a deeper bond of unity among the members. In an effort to branch out, the women of Kirei also p l anned social events with other club s, including an ice cream and softball outi ng, a sa lad dinner, and several devot iona ls with other women 's clubs. Wanting to use their talents to serve others, girls offered to help ca re for the chi ldren of sponsor Beth James while she was preparing for the birth of the James' fourth c hild . ~ Kirei/61
