Academic achievement determined qualification for membership in Junior Beta Club. In order to join, students had to maintain a 90 perce nt average for two consecutive s ix weeks grading periods . Many junior high students accepted this cha ll enge, and by the spring semester there were 45 members in the ~roup.~ The Senior Beta Club tried to become more active than it had been in past years. Seve ral of the members attended the state convention at Came lot Inn in Little Rock on January 28-29.
