In the opening game of the season, the Wildcats rallied above the Mountain View defense to defeat the Yellowjackets by a narrow margin. However, the victory was short lived, as Heber Springs and Hazen promptly crashed any hope of a winning streak. The Big Red Machine picked up enough momentum to shut out CAC in the first conference game of the season. The energy was high enough to stop Devalls Bluff 17-14, but two losses followed, at the hands of Woodlawn and Mayflower.
