Blickenstaff, who did double duty as a punter. led the conference punters with a 38,5 yard average on 57 punts. Bladwin's nine interceptions led the Ale in that category. Tony McCoy was the seccond leading rusher in the con· ference, picking up 1,021 yards on 226 carries. Three Bison receivers were among the top ten in the Ale. Adkison had 41 receptions for 572 yards for sec· ond place, Don Shumate caught 34 pass· es for 529 yards and a fifth place ranking and Mike Peacock snagged 22 aerials for 255 yards and ninth place. Blickenstaff finished third in passing with 1,556 yards and also third in total offense with an average of 153 yards a game. Caton was third in punt returns with an average of seven yards per return while McCoy ranked fifth in kickoff returns, averaging 19.2 yards a return. Hunter finished sixth in scoring with 54 points and finished first in kick scoring_ Clark, at offensive tackle; Caton, at defensive back; Blickenstaff. at punter; , and Hunter, at placekicker, were selected to the AII·AIC squad.
