All-Stars Earn Place Among Elite In a year filled with championships and trophies, 1981·82 also had its share of individuals that deserved their place on the pedestal. Through their accom· plishments on the fields, courts, tracks and courses, they were honored with various awards on all-conference, alldistrict, or all·American teams. They could be called the cream of the crop, the best of the rest or the top of the heap. We choose to honor them as AIIStars. Some did not play on championship teams; others did. As usual, Bison teams were well· coached and disciplined squads who learned from the men who led them. Three such leaders were honored as coach of the year in their sport. The others toiled, perhaps in the midst of obscurity, doing what they love. For the fifteenth time in the last 23 years. a Bison competitor received the coveted Cliff Shaw Scholar·Athlete Award. This, once again, illustrated an important athletic concept seen by the University. The total athlete is built - both by body and mind. Another year will soon come. This year has quickly gone. But these athletes and their coaches have been a big part of Harding's year and that is worth this pause of remembering. i?6 D11ln Clark David ElUott Football Tennis Ail-NAIll.
