Club Celebrates First Anniversary Kappa Tau Omega was of· ficially added to the University club roster following their ap* proval by the Student Affairs Committee on Thursday, Sep· tember 10. Under the leadership of spon· sor Richard King, the fifteen charter members of Kappa Tau began their first year as an organization. "We formed to meet the challenge of begin· ning anew, and becoming more involved," said president Mark Rossio. "Each individual is uni~ que and contributes to the club as a whole, continually adapt· ing to the needs of other members." Recognizing the different interests and needs of its memo bers, the club sponsored bi· weekly devotionals. Kappa Tau also participated in interclub devotionals with Chi Lambda Chi , Chi Alpha Rho, and Omega Phi. Employing a unique approach, the club held a "Mellow Party"' to celebrate their first year anniversary. "We called it a 'Mellow Party' in that we looked back on the year and remembered all that had happened:' said Rossio. " It was a great reunion for the club members. " Entertainment for the evening was provided by Perry Howard and Bill Ward. Tim Petty amus· ed the group with his comedy routines. The members participated in several community projects during the year. In the spring Kappa Tau was actively involvgram and also assisted local churches with work needing to be done. Kappa Tau was involved in all areas of athletic competition - basketball , softball, football, volleyball, track, and swim· mingo Their B team in football placed second in competition. ~ I.
