"Pledge trauma" was relatively low but sometimes I wonder if mistr~sses realize how much pressure the girls are under. A club of 35 members all yelling "Oh Pledger· constantly will drive Just about anyone bananas! Oct. 18· Rough Night was over a week ago and still the dorm reeks. GAG ME! The worst I"ve smelled yet has to be the com· bo of spaghetti and vinegar. If mothers only knew! Nov. 19· In the interest of safe· ty the dorm mother decided to have a fire drill last night . at 3 a.m. Ugh! Anyway. we all managed to stumble outside somehow. Of course, the last girl down the stairs was late because she had to brush her hair .. . Dec. 1 . Only 17 days till Christmas. 10 days till final ex· ams. Oh well , I guess it's time to study. Our wing Christmas party is next week. I bet Campus Mail gets flooded this week with gifts from secret, as in almost forgotten , secret sisters. Dec. 9 . Our Christmas party was tonight. Mrs. Claus, alias the dorm mother, delivered our presents· Santa couldn't make it due to curfew restrictions. The wing surprised Teddie and I with not one Christmas present, but a whole basket full! We were both so surprised. We noticed several of the gifts were food· I wonder if that has anything to do with the way we raided the rooms on Sunday night after everyone returned with Care Francl. It seems that Sondra, Krista , Susan and Michele were cele· brating the end of the semester when somehow Sondra manag· ed to scrape her back on a nail. So, at quarter past midnight we all piled in the car and drove to the hospital for a tetanus shot. The doctor examined the wound and then declared that neither tetnaus shot nor stitches were needed. The cure? A band· aid, of course. Well, so much for that final exam ... Dec. 17 . The dorm is prac· tically empty now and the semester has come to a close. Thinking back. I recall the endless nights of room check, homesickness, procrastination and the late night talk session about that "someone special." I feel like we 've all grown this semester. The girls have made it through their first semester away from home and have sur· vived living with three to a room. Thanks to my roommate I've kept my sanity, most of it anyways. As for me, I've learned a lot about myself and my rela· tions with others. Most impor. tantly I've learned the true meaning of friendship. It's not always 50·50 and it involves constant give and take in a spirit of love.
