IOdds and Ends/ Doing Your Laundry? According to an old saying, Monday is wash day. But for Harding students, every day is a wash day as one must juggle social life, studying, and clean clothes into a busy schedule. How can one manage all of these activities? Do them at the same time! From studying, reading books, catching up on the latest news, and having dates to do the laundry, one can see a wide range of activities going on at the laundry mat. For incoming freshmen, do· ing the laundry for the first time can be a traumatic experience. But, for some like Greg Man· grum, from Memphis, Tenn., doing the laundry is easy when everything comes out okay. However, it seems that even a "laundry veteran" can get into trouble sometimes. Jamie Horn, a junior from Lineville, Ala.. received two sweaters for Christmas and the first time he washed them, they shrank. When asked what his mother said. Jamie replied. " I hid them in a closet at home, so she would think I just left them at school." Once you have proven you can do your own laundry, it's time to branch into the other areas of laundry mat activities such as studying and socializ· • ....:..... - John Radcliffe mg. When doing the laundry, a lot of people try to get in some studying. However, Becky Dockery of Fayetteville, Ark., pOinted out one of the problems with studying in the laundry mat. "Usually it isn 't easy to concentrate on what I'm studying because so many people are coming and going."
