352 Basketball highlights intramural season Thi s year was the firs t for an intramural basketball league for the boys in grades 10-12. Coach Gary Rhodes had divided the teams evenl y, so whet her a learn won or nOI depended o n the kind of n igh t it s members were hav ing. Mitc hell Kiihnl' s team jumped to an early 3-0 start a nd was considered the team {Q beat. In the last game of the season, Larry Daughety's Spa rk pl ugs d id just thal. Using eve ry opport uni ty. t he Sparkplugs won the lasl game of t he regular season, making their reco rd 3- 1. Alan Manley's Mongoloids also had a 3-1 record so a ll three teams were tied for first place before the play-off games. There were two ot her teams in the league that also did quite we ll . Pele McCoy' s team played well but thei r record did not show it. They managed a 1-3 record with the o nl y victory over Bruce Picker' s team. Picker's team also played we ll bu t had a 0-3 record. The faculty team was a not her thi ng! They p layed in t he league but they could not ca rr y the crown. They went the who le four game season without a si ngle loss. Coach Tony Felker was the faculty star, averag ing about 23 po in ts per game. Debbie Cox won the junior high di vision and Lori Pryor, for the second year in a row, took the sen ior high divis ion.
