256 King's Men Kings Men and OIGI Members Sponsor Biannual Blood Draw Continuing tradition, King's Men and OEGE members once again sponsored the biannual Red Cross Blood Draw. Members and pledges alike aided nurses by bandaging donors and providing refreshments for the participants. Together the clubs assisted in a door-knocking campaign inviting people of the community to a gospel meeting being conducted in Jacksonville. A group also visited Jack Watts, their 92 year old "foster father" who resided in Bradford. King's Men collected money for Leisure Lodge residents during the Christmas season. They again contributed to Camp Shiloh, a retreat center for disadvantaged youths, located in New Jersey. A factor of King's Men and OEGE unity is spiritual involvement. Two retreats highlighted the year for OEOE, the first held at the Carmichael Community Center and the spring retreat being held in Batesville. "We've gone through a lot of changes in , the past," commented President Cindy Lapp. "but I feel that we're moving in the same direction as far as our relationship with Christ is concerned." Prayer groups were initiated and bi-monthly devotionals continued to be an important aspect of Christian fellowship. The highlight of the sports season for OEOE was finally clinching the championship in large club softball, defeating Kappa Phi for the first time in four years. Four teams were fielded in volleyball, with the B team finishing first. Members also participated in speedball and basketbalL King's Men entered swimming, track, bowling, and football competition, placing second in A and B team footbaU. Winning the championship in B team softball accented their successful sports record. - Jim Murphy
