Ka Re fa , . Year of Service for Ka Re Ta Ka Re Ta soc ial club found many ways to be of service to others during the past year. The Walk/Bike-a-Thon held for the benefit of the Arthritis Founda~ tion earned almost $1400. The club also claimed recognition for their one hundred percent participation in the Toy and Dolly Drive. But the highlight of this year was the purchase of a washing machine for a missionary family. The fall semester's activities were begun with a officer's dinner held at sponsor Gene Jackson's home. To reunite the club after summer, a bunking party was held at the home of Carolyn Bowman. A fall hayride was held on the outskirts of Searcy. A Christmas party. replete with holiday decora234 KaReTa lions and stockings full of goodies, was celebrated at the Green Barn. To remember the "'ove season," a Valentines party was held at Wyldewood. Ka Re Ta members met every other week throughout the year for devotionals. They also hosted a special devotional for freshmen friends. Still another devotional was held with other women's clubs for the express purpose of "getting to know other girls in other clubs better," according to Ka Re Ta president Patti Bryant. 1. KA RE TA I.
